Robert Rosen directs the Very Young Composers of Central Wisconsin. This is a program that enables 4th and 5th grade students to compose original music for a chamber ensemble of five to six instruments.  After the first phase the Young Composers have the opportunity to fully orchestrate their composition for symphony orchestra or wind band.  The program is a result of a partnership with the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point and the Stevens Point Area Public School District and has recieved significant funding support from the Wisconsin Arts Board.

The program is modeled after the Very Young Composers which is a part of the School Partnership Program in the Education Department of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.  Jon Deak, who created and runs the Very Young Composers Program is the primary consultant for the Central Wisconsin program which is in its eigth year.
